Coach Colleen Baylis said given they have another game upcoming with College, TCOB have to decide if they want to play them twice or perhaps take the gamble and suggest the match be for double points.
On Saturday, Collegians had to deal with a clash in contrasts - their veterans can get power behind their strikes, but it is their speedy youngsters, lacking that killer blow, who are best able to get into scoring positions.
Coach Jan Dixon was on the field as she and fellow veterans Michelle Mitchell and Pania Matapare made sure to get their sticks into Marist's passing channels to break any opposition momentum.
Running it back, Grace Godfrey, Rebecca Baker and Jessica Watkin could work themselves into the open, but the final shot would either be hesitant, put high, or sent directly into the goalkeeper.
"We had a lot of them," said manager Kellie Watkin.
"Lucky, I'd say lucky. It wasn't the greatest game - missed opportunities."
Lisa Grant scored their opening goal while Mitchell added the second after halftime, as Marist did not offer much in terms of co-ordination on attack.
"They never got close to finishing, really," said Watkin.
"Not a lot of shots on goal."
TCOB initially had similar hesitations against MCOB at the Twin Turfs.
"Still a bit hairy at times," said Baylis.
"[Goalie] Andrew Thomas was definitely player of the day.
"If it hadn't been for him, the scoreline was heading in a different direction at times."
Baylis had helped Thomas work on his technique for hand positioning and balance before the game.
Veteran Trent Williamson scored a fortuitous goal, while Ryan Gray added the second score for a 2-1 halftime lead.
This time, TCOB went on with it as goals by Matt Ford and Josh McDonnell wrapped up the match.
While his national title-winning teammates Lee Moir and Ben Pilet were either injured or not feeling well, the 15-year-old Gray has come back from the Central Under 18 team "a completely different player", Baylis said.
"He's realised what it takes now. He gets it."
It had been a rough few days for the TCOB women, as 'Techno' found themselves 3-0 down at halftime against Collegians midweek, and while they came back to 3-1, it took it out of them leading into playing the HSHC Rebels at the Twin Turfs, a 5-1 loss on Saturday.
Techno manager Ian Glenny praised Collegians for playing a fast game. "They finished their opportunities and they have a lot of speed up front with the young ones."
