Taihape's Elizabeth Mortland is a finalist for a lifetime legacy award for her work for the town's iconic Gumboot Day.
Ms Mortland, who recently resigned as manager of the Taihape Development Trust, is one of three contenders for the inaugural Toyota Lifetime Legacy Award at the Norwood New Zealand Rural Sports Awards.
The awards — presided over by a judging panel led by Sir Brian Lochore — will be handed out on March 9 at a dinner at the Awapuni Function Centre in Palmerston North.
