Staff at Guthries Holden got a surprise on Friday when children from Little Kiwis childcare centre turned up with morning tea.
The children, along with two teachers, visited staff in several businesses in lower Purnell St, including H+A Print, Clevelands Funeral Directors and Piping Hot, to hand out baked goodies.
Staff were surprised and delighted by the sweet treats, and the children were welcomed and shown around.
Teacher Robyn Scott said Friday was Random Acts of Kindness Day and the childcare centre staff wanted to teach the children about being kind to others.
"But it's also about making connections with our local community. We're located in Purnell St, and several of the businesses nearby have done things for us. H+A Print has given us paper and Piping Hot has given us pipe for play equipment," Mrs Scott said.
