A storage shed fire in Marton yesterday is being treated as suspicious. Firefighters were called to the Bowen St address just after 1pm and found the building well ablaze.
Marton chief fire officer Paul Whitehead said the cause had not yet been determined and it would be treated as suspicious.
Mr Whitehead said the damage was confined to the roof structure above the mezzanine floor and the back wall. There was no electricity to the building.
Firefighters managed to keep the fire away from a neighbouring building.
"The wind was actually in our favour a little bit."
