The UCOL Whanganui atrium was abuzz with great sounds and smells last Thursday when hospitality and contemporary music students showed their stuff.
There were tasty nachos, onion bhajis and sweet slices on offer for fellow students and visitors who came in from the cold and rain at lunch time.
Campus manager Bronwyn Paul said it was an information expo for students with community groups invited to hold stalls and chat to students.
"We decided to make it a warm and welcoming occasion for the community as well," she said.
The contemporary music students were being assessed on their performances while they entertained the gathering with a range of rock, blues and jazz songs.
Simran Kaur is a 19-year-old hospitality student from India who said she has been looking for an opportunity to share her Punjabi dance with Whanganui friends.
