GET ready for a shock.
The Kiwi-invented electric fence is featured in a new set of stamps designed by Wanganui man Tim Garman.
The stamps, which also feature other great New Zealand innovations spreadable butter, the jet boat, the tranquilliser gun, the mountain buggy are due to be issued next week.
Mr Garman, who moved to Wanganui with his family from Britain five years ago, where he still runs a design company, said it was his first time designing stamps.
The stamps show the inventions' original plans alongside drawings of the innovations themselves.
Rolled-up plans around the borders of the stamps were to "hint at the mystery of the creative process" and to "show how innovation is conceived," Mr Garman said.
He is now working on another project for New Zealand Post but could not reveal the nature of the project because it was still in the planning stages.
