The record books were on notice at the annual St George's School Track and Field Championships at Cooks Gardens on Wednesday.
One hundred and one students gave it a crack at the entire gamut of track events available, but only the top eight had the chance to tackle the field options.
Sports co-ordinator Mannie Marara said while the full results had yet to be collated, he was sure a record or two at least would be under threat, and some longstanding records at that.
"We've had perfect conditions today and I would not be surprised if some longstanding records are broken," Marara said.
"The beauty of our sports days is that everyone takes part, they all get involved. In Term 1 we hold our swimming sports, Term 3 our cross country and Term 4 these track and field championships. And because of the number of volunteers and the fine weather we had today, the entire programme went smoothly and far quicker than we traditionally envisage."
