A small earthquake was felt in Whanganui today

A small earthquake awoke many Whanganui residents this morning.

According to Geonet the rumble was categorised as light, measuring 4.3 in magnitude and based 30 km north-west of Levin at a depth of 30km.

It struck at 6.29am.
