A woman racked up nearly $1800 in credit card debt for an unsuspecting victim after finding the card late last year.
Amy Jennifer Jackson found a Kiwibank credit card on November 5 and used it for a shopping spree, Judge David Cameron said in the Whanganui District Court on Tuesday.
Jackson spent $1794.72 with the card. She tried to spend more than $2000 but was unable to.
Jackson forged the victim's signature on the receipts.
Judge Cameron said Jackson "has a very poor history of dishonesty offending and has received terms of imprisonment in the past for burglaries and the like". However, he noted Jackson's rate of offending had "dropped markedly in recent years". She pleaded guilty to using a document for pecuniary advantage.
