Singles form carried through to the doubles action at the St Johns Club Junior Wanganui Tennis Open on Tuesday evening with visitors again to the fore.
Twelve and under singles champion George Baird teamed with runner-up and fellow Wellingtonian Jonty Giesen as top seeds for the U12 doubles final beating Aston Burnell-Garratt and Marcus Ruane, also from the capital, 6-0, 6-1.
The U12 Girls doubles also went to top seeds Amber Dano (Wgtn) and Brooke Morgan (Lower Hutt). They beat Annabel Barnsley from Wellington and Greytown's Francesca Wells 6-2, 6-0. Morgan had earlier won the U12 singles title.
In the U16 boys' doubles fourth seeds Liam Nicol and Sean Phegan beat third seeds and fellow Wellingtonians Ben Hyde-Smith and Ruairi Meighan 6-1, 6-2, while in the girls' U16 second seeds Tenzin Joe and Amy Kieboom teamed to beat unseeded fellow Wellingtonians Sophie Karl and Faith Sadgrove 6-2, 6-2. Kieboom had earlier won the U16 girls' singles title.
