A Wanganui District councillor has expressed growing frustration about the secrecy surrounding debate on the city's wastewater treatment scheme.
At Monday's council meeting, councillor Rob Vinsen asked Mayor Annette Main when he and other councillors would be able to debate some of the issues in public.
Mr Vinsen said he was aware Wednesday's agenda included an update on the scheme "but when can we ask these questions in public?".
He said "once again" the debate would be held in committee which meant the public would be excluded.
" We keep hearing about a 'project team'. But who are they? The public has a right to know who's making the recommendations this time."
