The Ruapehu District Council is expecting significant interest in its latest abandoned land tender, given that demand outstripped supply in its earlier land-tender sale programmes.
The latest tender round includes 10 properties of bare land and opens next Tuesday.
Peter Till, council chief executive, said the abandoned land included six lots in Ohura, two in Waiouru and one each in Manunui and Taumarunui.
"This will be council's fourth tender round in recent years," Mr Till said.
He said interest in the abandoned land sales had been increasing with each subsequent tender, and those previous sales had been "a huge success".
