The Black Bull liquor store in Duncan St, Whanganui East, was robbed about midday today.
A police spokeswoman said there was one offender and it was thought some cash was taken but that had not yet been confirmed.
The spokeswoman could not confirm whether any weapons were involved but said it did not appear that staff had been injured.
