It's taking time, but one of Wanganui's prime attractions is slowly coming right.
Kowhai Park in Wanganui East was seriously damaged in the June floods, and work reinstating the children's playground and neighbouring reserve is on-going.
Lindsay Hyde, Wanganui District Council parks officer, said warmer weather had dried some of the silt in the park and contractors had been able to resow grass from the entrance of the playground in Anzac Pde to the octopus swings.
But Mr Hyde said once the grass had germinated, it would take about six weeks until it had grown enough to be used.
"While more favourable weather helps ground conditions, it can also hamper grass growth if conditions are too warm and dry," he said.
