Whanganui police have uncovered drugs, firearms, cash and over $20,000 in stolen property and vehicles after an early morning raid near Taihape yesterday.
Armed offenders and police raided the property at 6.30am and a 55-year-old local was arrested and charged with a number of offences. He will appear in Wanganui District Court today.
Detective Senior Sergeant Neil Forlong said the property had been targeted by police for a while. Police remained at the property overnight and the search was expected to continue today. "I do not believe that we have located all of the stolen property, drugs or firearms," Mr Forlong said.
