When Alex Goodwin taught at Maxwell Preschool, she organised a biscuit bake-off to raise money for guide dogs.
Mrs Goodwin no longer teaches, but her interest in helping the Guide Dog Foundation hasn't waned. Now she's organised for the Montessori kindergarten her granddaughter Elizabeth attends to sell the fundraising biscuits.
"My mum was blind, and that's where my interest in guide dogs comes from," Mrs Goodwin said.
The Guide Dog Foundation's annual Red Puppy appeal calls for volunteers to bake biscuits to sell in their community.
This year Mrs Goodwin, with the assistance of friends Robyn McKenzie and Helen Koorey, baked biscuits in the shape of dogs. A staff member from Sunny's donated the packaging.
