I can't say I lead a dull life. Even on my quietest days something inevitably occurs to make me reflect on how full my life is and how blessed I am to live, love and thrive within it.
Saturday provided with an experience like no other.
I had the pleasure of judging the Ugly Jersey Competition at the The Commercial Hotel, where I had never been before, and OH MY GOODNESS ... it was hilarious and they were such a great bunch of characters! I haven't laughed that much in ages and it was fantastic to see so many entries (16 in total) and such enthusiasm. Who knew the humbled knitted jersey could evoke such competitiveness. The entrants had scoured the local op shops searching for their glorious woollen entries and I have to say, there were some mighty fine specimens of retro and vintage knitting on show. Hanging out with these fine folk also took me back to moments with my father, sitting in a pub on Saturday afternoon in his woollen finery having a pint or two to pass the time. Just quietly, he would have thought the competition was a real hoot. So thank you to the team at the Commercial Hotel - I had a fantastic time!
I am now left wondering though ... what's next in this wonderful life?
I do, however, have a few things up my sleeve in the coming month.
