Meatworkers continued to picket the CMP Rangitikei meat works near Marton yesterday with wage negotiations still in stalemate.
The dispute started three weeks ago at the time the collective agreement ended between the company and employees who were members of the NZ Meat Workers Union.
Then company promoted an agreement which altered pay and some work conditions, but it was rejected by the union.
CMP Rangitikei then locked out about 100 union members and went into mediation talks to break the stalemate.
Union negotiator Roger Middlemass said the company's owner, Anzco, had offered a one-off payment of $500, but also wanted staff to take pay cuts of 15 to 20 per cent as well as accepting reductions in allowances for shift changes.
