It's time to get back in the saddle and put the pedal to the metal and sign up for the Aotearoa Bike Challenge.
The NZ Transport Agency and Love to Ride have partnered up to develop the challenge, a nation-wide cycling initiative that will take place during February next year.
Dougal List, NZTA national cycling manager, said that the change of seasons and daylight saving made it a perfect time for New Zealanders to get on their bikes.
"More people cycling to work, to keep fit, or simply for fun has positive benefits for riders and for our transport networks. The Aotearoa Bike Challenge is a great way to encourage people to get out and give cycling a go, even if they haven't ridden a bike for a while," Mr List said.
He said organisations from across New Zealand were encouraged to take part in the challenge and get their staff and department teams to compete to see who can get the most people to ride a bike.
