If waking up to a "loud dawn chorus" of native birds every morning sounds like your cup of tea, give the Bushy Park Trust a call.
The trust is looking for someone to operate the homestead now that the former lessees have left to pursue an "adventure in Hikurangi", chairwoman Liz Tennet said.
New operators will live adjacent to the Bushy Park Sanctuary and take care of the historic house and grounds.
"They will wake to a very loud dawn chorus every morning. They will hear the morepork at night," Ms Tennet said.
"There's a growing awareness by New Zealand of the value of our protected forests and bird life ... anybody who loves the environment and loves New Zealand's natural heritage will love Bushy Park. I think they would love to live up there."
