A Whanganui woman is $300,000 richer this week, after hitting the jackpot with Strike Four in last Wednesday's draw.

Her ticket was sold at Whanganui Pak'nSave.

She said she had been playing Lotto for more than 20 years, and while there had been "a few little prizes over the years", nothing had come close to her Strike Four win.

"It was totally surreal," she said.

"When I was standing in the shop and found out I'd won $300,000, it was like I was having an out-of-body experience."

It took a few moments for it to sink in that it wasn't a dream, she said.

"After that, my first thought was that I had to call my mum. I was bursting to share the news with her."

She said the first port of call for the winnings would be her house.

"This will help me pay off my mortgage and take some time to work out what I want to do next.

"I'm really excited."

Hers wasn't the only win in Whanganui over the last few days, with a Lotto First Division ticket worth $250,000 sold at New World Whanganui.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the winner was yet to come forward.

Powerball was not struck on Saturday and has rolled over to Wednesday night when the jackpot will be $14 million.

In July, a ticket purchased at Countdown on Victoria Ave scooped an $18,064 prize after winning second division alongside 18 other players.

That same month, an Instant Kiwi player in Bulls won $100,000.
