Joan Rosier-Jones has had an international audience cast an eye over her work.
The Wanganui writer recently returned from New York where her play, The Stars Go Down was staged by The Actors Theatre Company (Tact).
The American production came about after Ms Rosier-Jones' granddaughter Sasha Murray read the play and asked to put it on in New York. Now living in Sydney, she had trained at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, so she roped in some of her academy friends, including one who had a production company.
"It was quite amazing to see her work with it," Ms Rosier-Jones said.
She has had the play for a number of years and it was produced in Wanganui during the literary festival a few years ago when it was directed by Kerry Girdwood.
