Young and old alike enjoyed the Wanganui Potters Society's two-day show at Papaiti over the weekend.

Potter Emily Brooker said it was the first time the Art in the Garden exhibition had been held at QT Nursery in Papaiti Rd and everyone, from children to older people, had made the most of their visit to the new space.

"We've sold pots, domestic ware and sculptures and people have also bought plants from the nursery while they're here," Ms Brooker said.

"People enjoyed doing raku firing and some tried their hand at clay work. The children got involved with that and they also liked being able to touch the artwork, such as the garden sculptures.

"It was very relaxed and a good atmosphere. I'm sure we'll hold it again next year."

The exhibition included a large range of garden arts and crafts by locally and nationally renowned artists for sale and display.
