Whanganui Intermediate School welcomed 10 new staff last week - a deputy principal, an administrator and eight teachers.
They have come from far and near and principal Charles Oliver said it was great to have them on board.
Deputy principal Vanessa Bourne has come from teaching at Brunswick School and new administrator Nicola Matthews previously worked at Rutherford Junior High.
Sam Biggs, the only new man, was most recently teaching in Upper Hutt Wellington and Lauren Brooking has moved to Whanganui from Lower Hutt.
"We had a big turnover this year and a lot of the departing teachers had been here a long time. Some have retired and others have moved on," said Mr Oliver.
