Council officials are urging locals to make use of Whanganui i-Site's new services.

Council officials are urging locals to make use of Whanganui i-Site's new services.

Two new services are now available from the Whanganui i-Site with the visitor information centre becoming a ticketing agent for Eventfinda and parcel pick-up and drop-off service for Fastway Couriers.

Customers can purchase their labels online and drop in their parcels to the i-Site.

Whanganui District Council's team leader for venues and events, Rachel O'Connor, encouraged people to make use of the new services.

"We are more than just a one-stop shop for visitors. We would love locals to think of us that way, too," she said.

"We are thrilled that we can now issue tickets for events throughout the country, while the parcel service is adding value to what we already offer."

Ms O'Connor encouraged locals to make use of the i-Site when they had visitors staying over summer.

"The Whanganui i-Site can help with all travel and visit information and will give locals another excuse to pop into the Taupo Quay site and make holiday bookings."

During the summer months (November 1-April 30), the i-Site is open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, and Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm. During public holidays, it is open from 9am-3pm.
