Autumn might be upon us but the Whanganui Garden Club is in a growth phase.
Club president Reg Kidd says things had stagnated in the club in recent years and he was determined to inject some new life into the organisation.
"We've got about 60 members and run flower and produce competitions each month, but I think we can beyond that," Reg says.
The club organises trips to the Taranaki garden festival and is working up an agenda of guest speakers. The club's annual meeting is coming up in May and he says they were also working to get some high profile guest speakers during the year.
