With the snow base building at Whakapapa and Turoa skifields, Mt Ruapehu is gearing up to open in a fortnight.
And with facilities set to fire up on June 29, skiers and snowboarders will be able to latch on to a new pass.
Called flexi pass, it is designed for maximum flexibility, can be loaded with two, three, four or five days and can be used any time throughout the 2013 winter season on either skifield.
The passes will be on sale at discounted rates until June 30. Beyond that date the flexi pass will be at ticket windows for full price, or online with a discount.
A two-day adult flexi pass (with youth passes in brackets) costs $175 ($110), a three-day pass $255 ($158), a four-day pass $336 ($206) and a five-day flexi pass $416 ($254). There are also all-day mountain passes available which cost $97 for an adult, $58 for a youth (aged 5-18 years). Children under four are free.
