Stephen Walker had not been seen since last Wednesday.

A missing Rangitikei man, who hasn't been seen for a week, has been found in a hay barn, police say.

Stephen Walker, who disappeared on Wednesday May 14, was found by a member of the public walking their dog at the foot of the Ruahine Ranges just after midday today.

The dog alerted its owner to the presence of a person in the hay barn, and they called police.

Mr Walker was found shortly afterwards.

"I want to thank the public, local media, and Stephen's family and friends for helping us with the appeal to find him,'' Sergeant Andy Brooke said.

Mr Walker was said to be in a responsive state, and would be assessed by medical staff later today.

He is the brother of television stars Pete and Andy Walker from TV3`s The Block.
