Caitlin McAleece of Marton has earned a Queen's Scout Award.
Working through the scout and venturer sections of Scouts over the past seven years Caitlin completed different types of tasks to gain the award.
For service she helped with Cubs and Keas in the Marton Scout Group, for sport she has played hockey, for interest she learned to drive and for expedition she planned and completed a canoe trip down the Whanganui River with a group of friends
Caitlin has also completed different modules about herself, the world and the outdoors and attended the Scout Jamboree at Mystery Creek in 2012.
The deputy head girl of Rangitikei College She has also completed the Gold Award on the Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award scheme. To complete the award, she was interviewed by a panel consisting of the zone scout leader and zone training leader for New Horizons Scout Zone plus the principal of Rangitikei College.
