She wanted to be like Rapunzel. But, at eight years old, Savana Davis has finally had her first haircut. The Okoia School pupil's hair had reached the back of her knees before it was cut on Wednesday by Xile Hair by Design's Julia Toohey.
The locks will be donated to the Cancer Society to be made into wigs for people living with cancer. "People just kept forcing me to cut it," she said.
"I wanted to be Rapunzel, but they were like 'it's getting too messy'." In end, Savana decided it was "about time" she had it cut. "It feels like it's going to be much more easy to wash and brush and tie up."
And what will her friends say? "Amy will be like 'finally'. Every time I do something in my life the first time, she's like 'finally'."
