An estimated 1000 people turned out to farewell helicopter pilot Peter Robb yesterday.
The Wanganui man died after the chopper he was flying crashed on to Koatanui Rd at Brunswick last week.
Mr Robb's funeral was held yesterday at Wanganui Racecourse and included a flyover with seven helicopters and a fixed-wing aircraft.
The service included numerous tributes to Mr Robb, who did a lot of aerial work with the police.
The 56-year-old family man ran Hill Country Helicopters and was an experienced pilot and a well-liked and respected member of the community.
