Lace boots ... an inspiration

Lace boots ... an inspiration

A photograph of knee-high lace boots was the catalyst that swung Jenna Britton's career change from spray painter to a new Bridal Boutique called Wild Rose in Marton.

The boutique is set in the vintage wooden decor of the old Marton Jeweller shop.

Glass fronted floor-to-ceiling cupboards line the walls, the ceiling is high and vaulted and with the wooden floor boards, the shop has atmosphere with class.

Britton said when she was doing her apprenticeship in spray painting then working as a spraypainter in Feilding she was inspired by her boss to explore her creative side.

"And ... I was suddenly organising a bridal boutique. A, because Marton doesn't have one and B, because I fell in love with a range of boots made of lace.''

The boutique, named Wild Rose, opens at the end of this week when the shipment of the British made lace boots arrive.

They are so beautiful. I'm so looking forward to having them arranged in the shop.''

Bitton laughed when she said if anyone had said she'd be going into "bridal'' one day she would have said ''no way''.

But now, with her range of buy-on-behalf gowns as well as new, not to mention a "Britton original" gown, she said, her vintage boutique makes her very happy.

"Even though I still have to work at the pub across the road two nights a week."

As well as the gown for the main event, Wild Rose also features gowns for bridesmaids, dresses for flower girls and a large collection of delicate veils and head wear.
