The Whanganui branch of the Labour Party will have a fortnightly presence near the River Traders Market on Taupo Quay from 10am to noon on the first and third Saturdays of every month.
Craig Paynter, branch chairman, said it will give members of the public the chance to discuss issues, answer survey questions and access information about topics of interest.
"We want to hear from the citizens of Whanganui about their concerns and views on local matters," Mr Paynter said.
"Already responses to recent door-knocking surveys have highlighted issues that are both specific to Whanganui and echoed around the country."
He said those issues include the underfunding of essential services such as health and education, lack of job and career opportunities, high unemployment and difficulty in accessing government departments.
