The third annual open day at Turakina Maori Girls' College on Saturday was "lovely", principal Terehia Channings said. "We had a good service, a special chapel service, and we had whanau who were looking at enrolling their daughters that attended the chapel service as well," Mrs Channings said.
"The dayran quite smoothly.
"People remained behind to see the girls' performance at the end of the open day."
The students performed several kapa haka items, which Mrs Channings said were the highlight of the day.
"We were blessed with beautiful weather. It was a good day - it was a positive day. We probably had about 10 sets of families."
