Legally blind runner Joe Fallen has achieved his goal of completing a half-marathon - and he has more in his sights.
Mr Fallen took part in the Taupo half-marathon last Saturday, meeting his sighted running companion for the first time on the day.
"We had a chat on the day before the event and the run went really well," Mr Fallen said.
"It was his first time tethering as well. It was hard but I managed to do it. I wanted to do it in two-and-a-half hours but I did two hours 40 minutes."
Mr Fallen is having a few days' rest after a slight calf muscle pull but he will be back into training on Wednesday.
