About 100 patients at Whanganui Hospital will dine on their choice of meats and veges on Christmas Day.
The hospital will be serving roast lamb and chicken for lunch, as well as roasted vegetables, and a filo roll for vegetarians.
Dessert includes steamed plum pudding with brandy sauce, pavlova and berry sauce, or sugar-free jelly and fruit.
For dinner, patients can order roasted pumpkin soup followed by their choice of three main course, including glazed ham, turkey and cranberry sandwich, or roasted vegetable and feta salad.
Dessert options include double chocolate mousse, stewed fruit, or jelly and ice cream. Patients will also be treated to supper, and staff will also enjoy a special meal on Christmas Day if working.
