Horowhenua businesses can apply for slice of $100,000 funding boost

Funding has been made available to support businesses in Horowhenua that want to expand or need support navigating the impacts of Covid-19.

Horowhenua New Zealand Trust has announced that $100,000 of funding from the Regional Business Partners Network has been allocated to support businesses in Horowhenua.

Chairman of the Horowhenua New Zealand Trust, Antony Young, said the funding was a great opportunity for any business wanting to grow and add value to the community.

"We want to connect with businesses who are looking for the support needed to face current challenges and navigate a new way forward post-Covid-19. We're also looking for businesses who are looking for support to increase employment opportunities, increase capabilities with existing staff or work to expand," he said.

The funding, which is administered by Central Economic Development Agency (CEDA) business growth advisors on behalf of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, can be used by eligible businesses to access support and build capability.

Antony Young also farms blueberries.

"Depending on the needs of the business, this funding can be used to cover anything from HR, to business continuity, cash flow and finance management to strategy and digital capability. There is also the opportunity for business managers to build their capability through management coaching and training services."

The Horowhenua New Zealand Trust will be holding a free event at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō at 5pm on September 10 for businesses who want to know more.

"We want to try and get as much of this money out the door as possible, and have space at the event for up to 50 businesses to explain how the funding works, how it can be accessed and what it can be used for."
