"Be aware of wonder. Live a balanced life — learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some." — Robert Fulgham
Goodbye October, a month that for me has been a time of taking risks, speaking out and then times of ownership — listening to my inner voice more than I listen to others' "stuff". Some reflection and ownership which for me means sharing what I believe I need to help me succeed in whatever I find myself doing. Putting energy into me is ok. Some say that is selfish, I say it is self-honouring. In self-honouring I can finding a balance between what people need from me and what I need for myself.
The meaning of balance can be different for each of us, yet there are some universal truths. For instance: each of us needs a healthy work and life balance to be truly healthy and happy. I believe that our body, mind and soul must be in balance to be at peace and to live a life of harmony. However, many of us live lives far out of balance and put the things that are not as important first, letting them tip the scales too far in one direction. You and I can only be who we are in each given moment, and trust that all will come to fruition that is meant to come to fruition.
My Angels remind me that we mostly come into this world head first and mostly go out feet first and that the bit in between is all about balance. It is for this that the Angels are ready and waiting to help us when we ask. They invite us to stay focused on what we believe we can achieve. As Francis J Braceland says, "We can be sure that the greatest hope for maintaining equilibrium in the face of any situation rests within ourselves."
So my friends, if there is a little panic in you, or confrontation looming, or a situation you are in and feelings that you are experiencing — take a deep breath because the energy of panic can cause us to overlook something important. Check if you are balanced from head to toe, take stock of where you are standing and remember to honour yourself. Arohanui. Shirley-Joy.
