An aeroplane once owned by the King of Tonga will be in Whanganui in January giving scenic flights.
It's the 72-year-old DC3 that belongs to Air Chathams. It was here at last year's Vintage Weekend to give flights - but not many happened.
People were enthusiastic, Air Chathams general manager Duane Emeny said, but the weather wasn't great and only two flights took place.
"We issued a lot of refunds."
This year the plane will give flights on January 20, 21 and 22, starting at noon each day. They can be booked on the Vintage Weekend website.
