The teenage years are a key time in our children's lives and there is potential to get some things wrong and make life a bit harder for everyone involved. It's the same when we are parenting young children, so getting advice and support from parents and professionals who have travelled the journey before us is always a good thing to do.
This week we're looking at strategies to support our teenagers through to the end of their school years. As schooling is a very important part of growing up, make sure you don't put your teenagers under too much stress.
When your child goes to secondary school it's easy to lose touch with what's going on. It's important that you stay involved. Here are a few reminders about what's important:
Set Expectations: Expect your child to do well. Talk about the choices they'll have when they leave school.
Don't overload on activities: Having too many activities after school can make keeping up with homework hard.
