Former Prime Minister Helen Clark landed in Whanganui this afternoon before speaking as the special guest at UCOL's 10th anniversary dinner.

Clark was prime minister and a speaker at the opening of UCOL's Whanganui campus in 2008.

The former United Nations administrator had a tour of the city with deputy mayor Jenny Duncan before heading towards the dinner at UCOL's Rutland St campus.

The dinner will include talks from UCOL's chief executive, Leeza Boyce, UCOL's council chairman Ben Vanderkolk, iwi leader Ken Mair and community leader Mark Simmonds.
