School ball season is approaching and high schools in the Wanganui region are planning some glamorous events.
Wanganui City College will be first off the rank with a masked ball at Orlando Country Estate in Marton next Saturday night. Other schools plan events through June and July.
Anahera Candy-Anderson and Georgia Peke head the ball committee at City College and say the countdown is on for students to have their masks, dresses and suits at the ready.
The girls said students will be boarding buses at 4pm and heading to Orlando Country Estate in Marton where the 2012 ball was held.
"The boys really like the venue because they have a golf course and a shooting range there and they can play or shoot off a few rounds before dinner," said Anuhira.
