Since The Cross opened its doors at 86 Guyton St in 2014 more than 6000 visitors have been welcomed inside.
Gonville Christian Fellowship have provided the central city space where people can drop in to share a cuppa, biscuits and friendly company. The fellowship has seen the need to extend the service and three other churches have come aboard to support it. Joining the accord are Te Puna Waiora, Eastside Community Church and Clifflife Church.
The Cross is open to visitors from 8am until noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
"We want to extend the hours and days we are open to include Saturdays," said Pastor Ivan Caughey, of Gonville Christian Fellowship.
The accord between the church groups is about sharing resources and abilities to reach out to the whole community.
