Mānuka honey, what it is and the science behind it is the topic for next month's Whanganui Science Forum talk.
The talk will also cover how it is special, the acronyms DHA, MGO and UMF along with the promise and perils of plantation mānuka.
The speaker is Professor Richard Archer from the Massey Institute of Food Science and Technology, College of Health.
Dr Archer is the current Logan Campbell Professor of Food Technology.
Having completed his PhD he spent four years in the deer by-product process industry then 19 in the dairy industry.
