Christmas came early this year for an Aramoho woman who was tickled pink by a mysterious couple's random act of kindness.
Ninety-two-year old Doris Wallace-Thomson was at the supermarket when she asked a woman to read out the price of some dried fruit for her, before laughing at the cost and saying she would "stick with sultanas".
She was surprised and delighted to find the woman waiting outside the supermarket, dried fruit in hand.
"There was this lovely young lady waiting and she had this parcel in her hand, and she said 'this is a gift from my husband'," Mrs Wallace-Thomson said.
Mrs Wallace-Thomson wrote in to the Wanganui Chronicle because she did not get a chance to properly thank the couple.
