Wanganui racing legend Rod Coleman will forever ride through the Wanganui District Council chamber.
Mr Coleman's famous win in the 1954 Isle of Man motorbike race is the latest Wanganui scene to be immortalised in the Wanganui District Council's stained glass window.
Mr Coleman and his wife, Jacqueline, were guests of honour at a function at the council chamber on Friday morning, hosted by Mayor Annette Main.
Mr Coleman found success as a Grand Prix motorcycle road racer riding for British AMC on AJSs both at the Isle of Man and in the Grand Prix World Championship in Europe between 1951 and 1956.
Mr Coleman also competed in the fledgling Cemetery Circuit race in Wanganui in the 1950s.
