Whanganui residents continue to be alarmed by the amount of damage being done to roads due to reckless driving.
This time, it is a long stretch of tyre marks thought to be left on Friday night or Saturday morning on the No.2 Line, approximately half way between Durie Hill and Fordell.
This comes on the back of concerns expressed by Rachel Stewart to Whanganui district councillors recently that a "child could die" at the Rapanui Rd and Francis Rd intersection in Westmere.
It prompted a council vote to investigate how traffic safety could be managed on the intersection.
The damage done on the No.2 Line is just the latest in a string of recent incidents, including burnouts done in the Castlecliff Beach car park a little over a month ago.
