Balloons, merchandise and buckets full of freshly picked daffodils covered the floors at the Whanganui Cancer Society yesterday.
All in preparation for New Zealand's annual Daffodil Day - a day aimed to raise awareness on the support available to cancer patients.
Cancer Society Wanganui centre manager, Jane Beamsley, said last year the daffodils didn't grow in time but this year the local society has collected 30 buckets and they all smell beautiful.
"We have around 200 volunteers who will be dispersed around 26 locations around Whanganui central on Friday and five locations on Saturday," Ms Beamsley said.
There will also be stands set up in Marton, Taihape, Ohakune, Raetihi and Bulls.
