Grace Palazzo demonstrated the Anzac spirit with a crochet hook.
To raise funds for the RSA, she personally crocheted more than 50 poppies in red and black wool, one of which this reporter proudly wore to the Dawn Parade.
"Grace has been doing this all through the school holidays," says RSA manager Kyle Dalton, who also sported one on Anzac Day.
Grace, accompanied by her father, Nick, presented the money she raised by selling the poppies - $135 - to Kyle last Friday at the RSA.
"I thought this was extraordinary, for her to want to do it and also to raise the money and then donate it," says Nick.
Ten-year-old Grace is a student leader at Mosston School.
Grace and her mum adapted a method found on Youtube to make the poppy ... "And my nana showed me how to do the black bit in the centre," says Grace.
Nick is purchasing officer at Affco where he managed to sell a large number of the poppies. He says he wore one and when asked where he got it he just launched into a sales spiel on behalf of his talented daughter. "It was an easy sell," he says.
