The Ministry of Health reported there were 69 new community cases of Covid-19 in the Whanganui region this Thursday. Photo / Bevan Conley

There were 69 new community cases of Covid-19 in the Whanganui region, the Ministry of Health reported on Thursday.

Five people were in Whanganui Hospital with Covid-19.

Nationally, there were 4540 new community cases.

Throughout the country, 473 people were in hospital with the virus.

A further 16 Covid-19-related deaths were reported.
